on the one hand. YEAH! on the other... it sort of feels like a cheat.

I like it, it works for me. I want to see a suburban.

I like it, except for the trompe l’oeil tailgate detail. Its like all the Tacomas I see around town with #retro graphics packages. I think these old Chevrolet paint styles look nice.
Tangent: Cool factory graphics packages should make a comeback.

Maybe I feel like I do like it, but shouldn’t for some reason.

It doesn’t work without the trim.

The only one I like, because my Dad had a K5 in this scheme.
The wheels look better, too.

Two tones are the best. Always.

I need more time to decide just how much of a cheat this is, and how much better it could be executed. For now though, I think it looks amazing and if nothing else, it’s a step in the right direction.

I want one

I’m in. Until factory two tone is a thing again, I’ll take what I can get.

I’m going with YEAH!

we had an 88 burb in that scheme

Grandpa had an 80s suburban like that too. I wanted it for my first car or maybe my second or something. Sadly he sold it for near scrap value when he moved to Florida....

It was the first vehicle I really remember, along with our XJ. Had a built 350 in it.

Retro graphics on a Toyota you say?

I’m still waiting for the woodgrain option to get done

Why do I like this? And why do I want one?
![]() 03/01/2018 at 16:37 |

I like that! One of my early posts on Oppo was a Tacoma with a vinyl graphics package , I don’t mind this style either. I strangely find the Chevrolet ones appealing for reasons I cannot explain.

it looks pretty cool.........BUT it would of looked EVEN better if they had followed the trucks character lines a bit closer....... if that stripe were at the top of the fender creases on both the front and rear, and near the top of the tail light, and the one at the tailgate went to the character line at the top of the gate handle. it would flow so much better with the lines........... instead the stripe, just cuts through all the body lines in awkward spots......

yeah, its a little off. I see why its done this way but thats maybe part of the reason my brain rejects it.

I need to get out more, I haven’t seen any of the retro ones in person.

I’ve seen the orange one on IG quite a bit. I dig it.

I wanted it until I saw the price. FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. Yea, that would be a “no” for me.

I like the idea, but not the execution. Don’t like the tailgate graphics, don’t like that the side panel graphics go mid-tail light. The black/silver one posted lower looks better to me as a complete package.

They are a throwback to these trucks, with the more narrow stripe.
![]() 03/01/2018 at 16:55 |

and its that little bit that throws it. if they JUST had managed to follow the lines......
i gotta admit, i am glad they tried, just wish they would of had a guy with a better attention to detail on this job........

I like it, but it needs to be moved up to match the body lines on the fenders and taillights.
![]() 03/01/2018 at 17:02 |

I agree.
![]() 03/01/2018 at 17:03 |

right, and those were the second generation with the stripe. and even THESE, they managed to get the trim to meet the character lines the top trim rail is the sam height as the top of the grill, and at the back, it meets the top of the tail light
i mean yeah, they were trying, but they just didnt quite follow the existing lines of the truck they were working on. but yes the squarebody is more in line with what they are trying to pull off.....

They’re awesome. That’s the reason.

Looks good... but for US$8000? Nah... I call crack pipe on the price of that option.
![]() 03/01/2018 at 17:48 |

Yeah, that take a lot of love to justify.

I like the return to a reasonable size tailgate font.

Well, that ought to compensate for
something
